The Tisalom Residency program promotes interaction between leading multidisciplinary artists of diverse languages and cultures. It takes place in and around the city of Würzburg, a beautiful city with a magnificent heritage of literature, music and religion.
The Team
Yona-Dvir Shalem is a writer, curator and translator. In 2024, Yona-Dvir produced the festival of Yehuda Amichai’s 100th birthday in Würzburg, and then founded the artists’ residency Tisalom. Besides the projects in Lower Franconia, Yona-Dvir is a PhD candidate in the university of Nijmegen and an academic assistant in the University of Jewish Studies in Heidelberg.

Chen Amram is a facilitator, educator, writer and activist. An alumni of various programs at the Hebrew University, University of London and Harvard University – Chen is interested in the interplay between language, epistemology and cultural dynamics. As a believer in narratives as powerful remedies, she utilizes storytelling as a tool in her facilitation and accompaniment of artistic processes.
Jens Oertel met Yehuda Amichai while studying comparative literature at Hebrew University in Jerusalem. Directing a guesthouse in Latroun he initiated intercultural seminars with Palestinian and Israeli high schools. Living in Castell, a small village in the vicinity of Würzburg, his family has been active in raising refugee foster children from Afghanistan. Jens is promoting the work and legacy of the Jerusalem artist Jehuda Bacon and collaborating on art projects with Jehuda’s former student, Sigalit Landau.
